Pyro Space Station | 3D Visual Development | Alpha 4.0.0

Very proud to finally share part of the exploration work behind Pyro Space Station, released for Star Citizen (Alpha 4.0.0) at Cloud Imperium Games.
Some of this work was also presented during my panel at CitizenCon a few years ago.

These high-contrast 3D explorations were developed to study shape readability, narrative potential, and far-view recognition, with the directive of designing a long, slender station silhouette that would remain distinctive at large scale.

The goal was to balance scale, readability and narrative intent, while maintaining a grounded industrial visual language suitable for the hostile environment of the Pyro system.

3D was used early in the process to validate volumes, proportions and spatial relationships, before further refinement through a more painterly approach to reinforce mood and storytelling.

Big thanks to Danny Chan, Christian Doretz, Will Hyde, Brittany Chin, Fred Dupéré, and the entire Concept Art team who contributed to the development of Pyro Space Station.

Special thanks to Pierre-Luc Boulais (Art Director at the time) and Ian Leyland, whose trust and artistic direction helped shape this early vision.
